ISTEK Schools Science Projects Competition

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

My precious advisor Mrs. Ergen and I were at the final of the ISTEK Schools Science Projects Competition. We exhibited our project "Kimyatronik Radon Detector" in there. It is a radon detector which consists of an ionization chamber and an ammeter. It detects radon ions according to current changes in the ionization chamber.

With our prototype, brochures and all other materials, we were stunning in there. It was a great pleasure for me to present our project to the competition judges.

At the final, we were announced to the stage. We have been awarded the 3rd place prize in Chemistry out of 209 projects (in all categories). A big round of applause accompanied me and my advisor. Our trophy was a cut-glass award cup. And of course congratulations :D

St. Valentine's Day / Share The Love

Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,

St. Valentine's Day... For this special day, we conducted a love themed event. We sang love songs, read love poems and shared love stories from some famous movies. I hosted the event with a great pleasure. Most importantly, we had so precious guests from a nursing home in Basaksehir district of Istanbul. We shared our love with them. During this loveful event, we raised money by selling homemade foods and accessories for the elderly people.

Here, I am behind the lectern while introducing the performances. As the color of love, I especially wore a red pocket square. Well, it was a piece of red velvet that I found from the stage decor actually :D 

I am so glad to share our lovely event as my very first post in my blog. This event was the first one for me after I became the district Champion of the Istanbul Directorate of Education's Diction and Oratory Competition out of 12 finalists in November 2011. As an automotive enthusiast, I gave a special speech to the audience about the global automotive industry and the leading actors of it during the district final.
